Zamani Mbatha brought effortless style and "sports thriller" energy to the Wanderers as the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Paarl Royals battled for a place in the Betway SA20 final. The star power continues to surge as the SA20 heads to Cape Town this Sunday, with icons like Zozibini Bolowana and Siphiwe Tshabalala set to join the action at Newlands.

The Betway SA20 is where the roar of the crowd meets the pulse of Mzansi culture, and last night at the Wanderers Stadium, the energy was off the charts.

Shaka iLembe, Isithembiso, and Rhythm City star, influencer, and creative powerhouse Zamani Mbatha brought his unmistakable "drip" to the stadium as the Sunrisers Easter Cape faced off against the Paarl Royals at the Bullring in a high-stakes battle for a spot in the final.

Known for his sharp fashion sense and love for the culinary arts, Zamani fully immersed himself in the electric atmosphere of the Bullring.

Describing his experience as nothing short of fantastic, the actor shared that he is officially a fan and eager to witness more of the game’s magic moving forward.

Pitchside with the Stars

SuperSport’s very own Kuhle "Kooks" Sonkosi caught up with Zamani pitchside for an engaging conversation on the intersection of acting and professional sport.

Zamani noted that the two worlds share a surprising amount of DNA, specifically the level of focus required.

He explained that the white-knuckle intensity on the pitch reminds him of being in character—fully present and immersed in the moment.

“If cricket were a movie,” he said, “it would be a sports thriller: high stakes, dramatic swings, and constant tension between two teams chasing a spot in the final.”

The Road to Cape Town

While the Paarl Royals gave it their all, it was the Sunrisers Eastern Cape who ultimately booked their ticket to the final for the fourth time.

After a dominant seven-wicket victory over the Paarl Royals, the "Orange Army" survived the pressure of a packed Wanderers and are now preparing to head to the Mother City to face the Pretoria Capitals in the final.

Zamani perfectly captured the day's vibe, rocking a white tee, cream denim, and sandals—an effortless summer look that matched the "cricket, sunshine, and sixes" energy of the SA20.

The star power is only scaling up from here.
