The Sharks have won one, lost three and drawn one of their last five URC matches. They ended last season with a 43-33 home win over Benetton, a 22-22 home draw with Munster and a 35-5 away loss to Leinster. This season they have started with two losses on the bounce!

The Ospreys have lost four of their last five URC matches, with last week's 34-31 win over Zebre breaking a four-match losing streak into last season.

The Sharks have won the last two matches between the two sides. They won 27-13 away to the Ospreys in 2021, and last season they beat them 25-10 at home.

The Sharks' season kicked-off with a 34-21 away loss to Munster. The hosts scored a 77th minute try which they didn't convert, after which Aphelele Fassi scored an 81st minute try for the Sharks which Curwin Bosch converted… but there was still plenty of daylight in the margin of defeat. Last week the Sharks suffered a heavier 34-13 away loss to Leinster, who ran out five tries to the one from the Sharks. Richardson scored the Sharks' first try in the 79th minute, which Bosch converted… only for Leinster to run in an 80th minute try (converted) to really knock the wind out of the Sharks' sails.

The Ospreys lost their opener 34-26 away to Connacht, a 75th minute converted try by Rhys Davies making the result seem closer than it was. The following Saturday the Ospreys put matters right with a 34-31 home win over Zebre, who scored and converted on 80 minutes to leave the scoreline looking squeakier than it really was.

The Ospreys are ninth on the table with six points and a points difference of 5… but the visitors the Sharks will be hoping that the saying "the only way is up" will work for them tonight. The Sharks' two losses in a row leave them second from the bottom in 15th place on 0 points and with a points difference of -34.
