A tough day for the Warriors, who scored two excellent tries and gave as good as they got today, but the Sharks had the edge on what was a superbly entertaining match. TRY, SHARKS, VOLMINK! 15-12; Some quite breathtaking handling down the Sharks backline and Volmink is released down the touchline, and he powers through for the try, just managing to stay in play despite a last-ditch tackle from the visitors. That was a highly memorable try from the Sharks, and what a finish from Volmink!

HALF-TIME, SHARKS 13-7 GLASGOW WARRIORS. Nice half of rugby, with both teams showing some great handling and willingness to tun at one another. It looked for a while that the hosts were going to really spoil the Sharks fans' day, but the home side stood firm and fought back superbly. Sharks ended the first looking like the team in charge, until Glasgow hit back with an equally strong attack. Home side should enjoy second half advantage as both sides begin to flag, but Glasgow are showing plenty of Scottish fight… so we should be in for a cracker of a second half at Kings Park.

The first time the teams met was last season, when the Warriors beat the Sharks 35-24 in Glasgow.

The Warriors kicked off with a disappointing 11-33 away loss to Benetton, followed by a heartening 52-24 home win over Cardiff Rugby. Another away defeat followed (17-32 v Ospreys), but last week they pulled off an impressive 35-21 home win over the Bulls.

The Sharks started the season with a 42-37 away win over Parma and a gripping 20-19 away win over the Dragons. Last weekend they suffered a heavy 34-53 away defeat against Leinster.

Glasgow Warriors will start the match in eighth place, one spot above the Sharks, but they have played an extra match. The Warriors have won two of their four games and are level on points with the Sharks (10 points), with a positive points difference of five points.

The Sharks start the match in the bottom half of the log, but with a game in hand over the teams around them. The Sharks have won two of their three matches and have picked up 10 points. They currently have a negative points difference of -14 and will hope to turn that around in this match.
