FULL TIME: STORMERS 29-24 LIONS The Lions get a bonus point for being within seven and face a nervous wait for the end of the Benetton vs Edinburgh clash. If that match stays as is, the Lions will progress. Benetton lead 31-6 with seven points remaining and Edinburgh need to either score four tries or get within seven of the Benetton score to remove the Lions from a playoff place. Ospreys can still overtake the Lions if they secure a bonus point win over Cardiff later tonight.

The Stormers exit well and set up the lineout on halfway where the Lions do not feed the lineout straight and the Stormers will have a scrum with seconds on the clock.

CONVERSION, STORMERS, LIBBOK, 29-24: Libbok slots the kick.

TRY, STORMERS, SMITH, 27-24: The Stormers secure the bonus point and fifth position with that score.

The Stormers rumble up towards the line. The Stormers bash over but there isn't a clear grounding from the referee on the field.

The Lions are a bit sloppy on their kick chase and the penalty will allow the Stormers to set up a lineout inside the Lions 22.

PENALTY, LIONS, HENDRIKSE, 22-24: The Lions will snatch the lead.

The Lions have an advantage but they are fighting to get over the line. They will come back for the penalty and the tee is called for in the end.

The Lions have the scrum five out after a goal-line scramble after a neat chip ahead from Van den Berg.

The Lions win a penalty and now have a big decision to make. The kick would be from a tight angle but would give them the lead. They have called for the tee. Hendrikse has missed the kick.

The Stormers defence survives another test as the Lions attack through the phases until a great countteruck allows the Stormers to snatch the ball.

The Lions are denied somehow as the Stormers really scramble well and force the attackers into touch. Brilliant tackle from Feinberg-Ngomezulu.

The Lions knock on in attack and the Stormers have another scrum feed just outside their own 22. Louw comes back on for the Lions but will have to watch himself.

The Lions spring into life on attack and they just see a ball run into touch with van der Merwe chasing hard. The Stormers win the lineout but only clear as far as their own 22.

CONVERSION, STORMERS, LIBBOK, 22-21: Libbok puts the Stormers back into the lead.

TRY, STORMERS, ROOS, 20-21: Roos just puts the team on his back with a belligerent run that sees him burst through and then sprint in to score under the posts.

Lombard finds a decent touch off the scrum but the Stormers still have attacking ball and both sides are down to 14 leaving spaces all over the park.

Libbok fluffs his pass but the Stormers would have been in there if not for the vital handling error. The Stormers have changed their whole front row and the Lions scrum is already under pressure. The Lions need to force the Stormers to play from deep.

A tight call sees the referee award the Stormers a scrum after some loose handling from both teams. The Lions were on attack ten inside the Stormers half but now they have given away a scrum penalty and Naude has been warned.

YELLOW CARD, LIONS, LOUW: Louw run in to push Davids after the fact has earned him a yellow card.

RED CARD, STORMERS, DAVIDS: Davids hits Nohamba high and he will be sent off.

Louw is going to be in trouble here after rushing in to push a player after a hit on Nohamba by Davids. The hit was high and Davids will be carded at the very least.

The Stormers get over-elaborate off the setpiece and Simelane knocks on. The Lions launch an attack off quick scrum ball and are inside the Stormers half with ball in hand.

The Lions scrum goes down and the penalty allows the Stormers to take play up towards the Lions' 22 again. The kick finds touch just outside the Lions 22.

The Stormers get a lucky break as the ball is knocked on off a poor kick from Jantjies. The Stormers have the scrum ten from halfway.

PENALTY, STORMERS, LIBBOK, 15-21: Libbok accepts the gifted points.

Louw is now penalised for 'trying to referee the match' with the referee annoyed with his chat. The Stormers call for the tee.

Libbok sends up the restart kick and the Lions grab it inside their 22. A poor exit from the Lions has put the Stormers on the front foot early. The Stormers will feed a lineout just outside the Lions' 22.

HALF TIME: STORMERS 12-21 LIONS The Lions have taken their chances far better in the first half and that is why they lead at the break. The Stormers have been wasteful on attack with the 22 entries stacking up but the error count rising with it as well. This game is still pretty tight and the Stormers have the better scrum right now which could really be telling in the second 40.

PENALTY, LIONS, HENDRIKSE, 12-21: Hendrikse makes the kick and now the Lions can play the game in a way that suits them.

The Lions make the most of the Stormers' failure to present the ball correctly and they kick ahead. Du Plessis gets back but after he knocks on its played by Davids and the Lions have a penalty.

Pretorius gets another rip for the Lions but as they try to shift it wide a pass is thrown into touch. The Stormers will have another attacking lineout and they got away with some sloppy play as well.

Bothas gets isolated and Dixon gets over him and wins a penalty for the Stormers. That could just shift the momentum of this match.

Van der Merwe produces a stunning kick that is inches away from being a 50/22. The Lions cannot steal the ball at the lineout but they win it at the breakdown and can attack.

CONVERSION, LIONS, HENDRIKSE, 12-18: Hendrikse converts from the corner and the Lions now have their tails up.

TRY, LIONS, PRETORIUS, 12-16: Pretorius is the man who comes up with the ball but the try was a full effort from all the forwards.

The Lions get another penalty as Simelane gets desperate on defence for the Stormers. The Lions go to the corner.

Hendrikse drills a kick into touch deep in the Stormers 22 with a penalty and the Lions will have a chance to attack if they can secure the ball.

Roos cannot hang on after a poor Lions pass nearly gifts him a run-in. The Lions will have the scrum ten inside their own half.

A good carry from Dayimani sets up Jantjies to clear well for the Stormers, the Lions will have the lineout close to halfway just inside the Stormers half.

Libbok hits the post with his conversion attempt and the Stormers have to be content with a one-point lead for now.

TRY, STORMERS, DAVIDS, 12-11: Jantjies sets up the try with a great pass that gives Feinberg-Ngomezulu the one-on-one that he breaks through and sets Davids into the corner with another well-timed pass.

The Stormers turn down another potential shot at goal and set up a lineout on the Lions' 22.

Hendrikse misses the conversion. The Lions gather the restart and set up the box kick with a rumble or two but Van den Berg's kick isn't the best. The Lions win the ball but it then goes into touch.

TRY, LIONS, HORN, 7-11: Francke Horn gets over in the corner after Nohamba sparked chaos with a chip in behind the Stormers.

The Stormers waste another attacking opportunity as they feed the lineout skew and that's not going to go down well in the coach's box. The Lions carry after clearing the scrum but they win a penalty as Dixon comes in from the side and gets over the ball. The Lions kick to touch and will feed the lineout just inside their own half.

The scrum goes up and nobody will be rewarded this time as the scrum has to be reset. However, when it goes up again the Lions are penalised. Libbok kicks it into the corner.

Horn gets into the Stormers' line to disrupt an attack but then he knocks on and the Stormers have a scrum feed just outside the Lions 22.

The Lions kick long after the restart but then the Stormers somehow make a break out of a poor pass. Roos bursts away but the Lions streal it in their 22 and kick out. The Stormers have the lineout about ten inside the Lions' half.

PENALTY, LIONS, HENDRIKSE, 7-6: Hendrikse makes it a one-point game.

The Lions respond well as they force a knock on from the restart and can attack the Stormers. Sithole strays offside and the Lions send it wide but cannot find a way through. They come back for a penalty and Hendrikse calls for the tee.

CONVERSION, STORMERS, LIBBOK, 7-3: Libbok converts the try from a tricky angle.

TRY, STORMERS, VENTER, 5-3: Venter has gone over as the Lions' maul defence disintegrated.

Louw gets penalised for a shoulder charge on Feinberg-Ngomezulu and the Stormers go into the corner again for a lineout. This time they win the ball and rumble towards the Lions line.

The Stormers get the scrum penalty straight away as Naude slips his bind and goes down. Libbok drills the kick into the corner. The Stormers knock on at the lineout but the clearance from the Lions doesn't find touch and Libbok can spark an attack.

Maxwane will have to be stretchered off the field with concerns about his neck which he left exposed as he got his head onto the wrong side of the tackle. The Stormers now get to pack down for the scrum and Marius Louw is on for the Lions.

Maxwane is down after coming off second-best in a physical battle with Davids. The Stormers will have a scrum feed on the Lions 22 after play was stopped to check on Maxwane. The Lions had exited off the restart and found touch close to the ten giving the Stormers a chance to run at them and the Lions looked suspect on defence.

PENALTY, LIONS, HENDRIKSE, 0-3: Hendrikse slots the kick from 15 in on the 22.

The Lions earn the penalty off a lineout maul and try some backline trickery but don't earn advantage and they will call for the tee.

The Lions kick off deep and onto Jantjies who gets tackled back and Libbok has to come in to clear the ball from the ruck. Jantjies recovers to find touch with a box kick in the next phase. The Lions have the lineout ten inside the Stormers half.

The Lions might be able to sneak into the playoffs with a losing bonus point but a bonus point win will be what they aim for in this playoff chase. The Stormers cannot catch any of the teams above them on the URC table but they can lose spots on the log which could see them have to travel for a very tough quarter-final, although they have made safe their place in the last eight.
