VURC Round 1 fixtures moved to early 2025

The Vodacom United Rugby Championship’s round 1 fixtures between the four South African franchises have been moved to a date still to be determined in early 2025.

This move of fixtures comes as a result of a request from the South African Rugby Union to accommodate the playoffs schedule of the 2024 Carling Currie Cup which was set to conclude on the same weekend as the opening round of the 2024/25 campaign of the VURC.

Originally, the DHL Stormers were due to host the Vodacom Bulls in Cape Town and the Emirates Lions were set to travel to Durban where they would face the Hollywoodbets Sharks on Saturday, 21 September.

The Vodacom United Rugby Championship is working with SA Rugby, the home teams and host broadcasters, SuperSport, to reschedule these fixtures in order to update ticket holders and supporters as soon as possible.
