Winger Eduan Keyter made a better-than-expected recovery from illness and will line up on the right wing for the Lions’ Vodacom United Rugby Championship round three fixture against Scarlets on Saturday.

Keyter missed the loss against Benetton, pulling out of the game before kick-off, and this week, assistant coach Ricardo Loubscher said he wouldn’t be available for Saturday, but he has been named in the starting line-up for the Lions’ first home game of the URC season.

In another change, Nico Steyn comes into the starting line-up for Morne van den Berg, who was injured against Benetton, while on the bench, Reinhard Nothnagel returns after a long period on the sidelines with injury.

LIONS: Quan Horn; Eduan Keyter, Henco van Wyk, Richard Kriel, Angelo Davids; Chris Smith, Nico Steyn; Francke Horn, Ruan Venter, JC Pretorius, Darrien Landsberg, Etienne Oosthuizen, Asenathi Ntlabakanye, Franco Marais, SJ Kotze.

Replacements: Morne Brandon, RF Schoeman, Conraad van Vuuren, Reinhard Nothnagel, Jarod Cairns, Layton Horn, Lubabalo Dobela, Kelly Mpeku.
