Both TS Galaxy and SuperSport United will hope to get back to winning ways in the Betway Premiership this week when the two sides do battle at the Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday night.

Kick-off is at 7:30pm (CAT, GMT+2)

CURRENT FORM

As far as league football is concerned, both Galaxy and SuperSport have struggled to yield positive results on a consistent basis in recent months.

The Rockets recorded a 1-1 draw against Cape Town City last time out and have bagged just three wins in their last six Betway Premiership games.

While Galaxy sit in 7th position after 21 matches played, SuperSport find themselves dangling in 13th place with 21 points after 20 fixtures.

The Tshwane side have won just once in the last 10 league matches, with their most recent victory being a 4-1 result against Kaizer Chiefs on 18 February. SSU also went on a damaging four-match losing streak between 12 January and 5 February during this period.

WHAT WAS SAID

Reflecting on his side’s form this season, TS Galaxy captain Mlungisi Mbunjana believes that the Rockets have done well up until this point.

“We’ve done pretty well for ourselves,” Mbunjana said.

“We had a run of games, Stellenbosch, Sundowns and after that we bounced back with a win, which was a much-needed win.

“It helped us a lot and boosted our confidence, it brought us back to the goal we wanted for ourselves. We are trying to push it; we’re taking each game as it comes. We stay rooted and focused with what we want to achieve as a team, as a group and we know our goals

Speaking after SuperSport’s defeat against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup, assistant coach Andre Arendse believes that Matsatsantsa have much to build on in the next couple of weeks.

"I think we got it 100 per cent correct today, we had chances, it could have easily been two or three, four for us,” Arendse said.

“Lungu missed one in the beginning, Saile was through on goal and could have passed to Bradley – so we had those opportunities. There’s so much we can take from it in the build-up to the next game.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

TS Galaxy: Dženan Zajmović – The Belgian has been a talismanic figure for Galaxy this season with 10 goals in 22 matches across the board. Looking to produce the goods against top quality opposition, Zajmovic will no doubt be keen on adding to his tally against SSU this week.

SuperSport United: Lebohang Maboe – Largely deemed as one of the best midfielders in the country, Maboe adds a sea of wealth to the Matsatsanta tactical setup. Known for his ability to make a difference in the final third, Galaxy will have to pay close attention to the marauding midfielder tomorrow evening.
