Tricky clashes for Brazilians & Bucs, Chiefs chase revenge

The Betway Premiership’s top two, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, both face tricky clashes in a midweek round of action which will also see Kaizer Chiefs chasing revenge against a struggling Cape Town City.
Both the Brazilians and the Buccaneers will be in action on Tuesday evening, with the former hosting an in-form AmaZulu FC (two wins and a draw from their last three league outings) at Lucas Moripe Stadium, while the latter will be away to Stellenbosch FC (five unbeaten in the league) at the Athlone Stadium.
While Pirates were in action this past Saturday, edging SuperSport United on penalties after a 2-2 draw in their Nedbank Cup quarterfinal, Sundowns had the weekend off due to postponement of their tie against Sekhukhune United.

The reigning champions were last in action in a 1-1 draw away to Golden Arrows last midweek, a hiccup in their attempt to win an eighth successive league title, but coach Miguel Cardoso remains confident.
“I just want to make it clear that in normal conditions, we will be champions, and in abnormal situations [referencing a perceived unfairness in their treatment by match officials], we will be champions again,” said the Portuguese tactician.
Tuesday also features a relegation six-pointer between Magesi FC and Richards Bay at the Seshego Stadium, as well as TS Galaxy tackling SuperSport (who themselves are just four points above the relegation playoff berth) at Mbombela Stadium.
Wednesday brings clashes in which Marumo Gallants and Polokwane City will host Sekhukhune United and Golden Arrows respectively, as well as Kaizer Chiefs hunting revenge against Cape Town City – and their former mentor, Muhsin Erturgal.
The Citizens, who defeated Chiefs 1-0 when the teams as recently as January, have endured a nightmare run of poor form. They have gone eight matches without a win across league and cup competitions, with their most recent outing – a 1-1 draw at home to TS Galaxy last midweek – at least snapping a four-game losing streak in the Premiership.

“I'm very frustrated at the moment. I must be careful and get in line, because I don't want to say something wrong,” said Ertugral of his team’s struggles.
“It's always difficult after a game we dominate, especially in the first 30 minutes. The moment we scored, I asked my assistants – the coaches next to me – what we needed to do more.”
