Powerplay Update: Sooryavanshi powers Royals to 63/0

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi struck five fours and two sixes for his unbeaten 38* (21) as he steered the Rajasthan Royals to 63/0 at the close of the powerplay in their Tata Indian Premier League match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors won the toss and chose to bat first. Their openers, Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal (21*), were watchful through the first three overs. That was because Kartik Tyagi, Vaibhav Arora and Cameron Green landed the ball in good areas, which prevented them from launching a flying start. Unfortunately for KKR, everything went pear shaped in the last three overs of the powerplay.
