Nabi expected back for Sundowns clash
Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi is expected to be back in time for the club’s crunch Betway Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns next week.
His deputy Khaled Ben Youssef said Nabi was expected back before the game after being forced to return home to Tunisia before the start of the new league season.
He rushed to the bedside of his wife, who fell from a roof and sustained serious injuries.
Chiefs have won their opening three games of the new season without Nabi, who Ben Youssef said previously had been in close consultation with the coaching staff.
Nabi, who turned 60 this month, was in charge last season as Chiefs ended a decade-long trophy drought, but the achievement was soured by the fact the club finished ninth in the league, missing out on the MTN8 for a second successive season.
Chiefs have beaten Stellenbosch away and AmaZulu and Richards Bay at home in their first three league games and are yet to concede a goal.
Last season they beat Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup semifinal but lost their two league encounters against the champions.
