Rise and Shine face tough test with powering Rockets
Polokwane City will be up for a challenge against TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership on Saturday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kick-off is at 3pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).
CURRENT FORM
Polokwane City have faced a dip in form following their 1-0 victory over Cape Town Spurs at the end of April. They have played three goalless draws in succession against Richards Bay, Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs.
The Limpopo outfit are in 10th place in the league standings, with 36 points. They are level with AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs, who are placed ninth and eighth respectively.
TS Galaxy have won one out of their last three matches in the DStv Premiership, which was against Orlando Pirates. They drew their matches against Cape Town City and already crowned champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sead Ramovic’s men are fourth on the log and have a total of 44 points, five points behind Pirates.
WHAT WAS SAID
Even though it's no longer entirely in their control to finish in the top eight, Polokwane City interim coach Phuti Mohafe isn't giving up on the goal.
"We can't say we're not going to fight for the top eight. We are ready to give our all against Galaxy to boost our chances of being in the top eight. We know that we need other results to favour us but we must make sure we win our game to stand a chance,'' Mohafe said.
“I think defending well is what has kept us in the league this season. We've been playing with the same defence consistently and that has helped us to keep clean sheets.”
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Puleng Tlolane (Marema), Polokwane City - The forward has not scored this season but has shown signs of improvement in recent matches. A goal in this encounter could lift up his confidence as the season comes to a close.
Fiacre Ntwari, TS Galaxy - The young goalkeeper has had an impressive campaign and a good performance between the sticks could be the difference in ensuring that the Rockets do not concede goals.
