Chiefs and SuperSport United set for belter at FNB Stadium

In what will be one of the most keenly anticipated Betway Premiership fixtures this week, Nasreddine Nabi’s Kaizer Chiefs and Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport United will do battle at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Kick-off is at 7:30pm (CAT, GMT+2)
CURRENT FORM
The Soweto giants have gained much needed traction in their last couple of matches and head into their latest league assignment on back-to-back wins in all competitions.
After recording a 1-0 win against Stellenbosch FC last time out in the Betway Premiership, Chiefs then turned their attention to Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup, where they bagged a convincing 3-0 win in the Round of 16 on home soil.
As it stands, Chiefs are sixth in the league, while Matsatsantsa linger in 12th place after 15 matches played.

SuperSport are currently on a six-match winless streak in the league, a run that included defeats against Sekhukhune United, Polokwane City, AmaZulu and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.
However, the Tshwane side will be hoping to build on their recent showings in the Nedbank Cup, where they recorded 2-1 win against Cape Town Spurs in the Round of 16.
WHAT WAS SAID
The Chiefs mentor recently expressed that his side are moving in the right direction in their pursuit of ending the season in a respectable position on the Betway Premiership table.
"I would say that we still have a lot of work to do, a long road to go, and it's not like a false modesty, but we don't believe we are even half of the team that we dream of for Kaizer Chiefs," Nabi said.
"But the biggest certainty is that we are headed in the right direction, the players understand what they need to do, and we feel that they are coming together – honestly, the process continues."
Reflecting on his side’s recent win over Cape Town Spurs in the Nedbank Cup, Hunt believes that his side acquired much-needed momentum ahead of their clash against Chiefs.
“There were one or two key moments that were scary, but we had a lot of opportunities around the box,” Hunt uttered.
“We got to be a little bit better, but we got through; that’s the main thing, we got a little bit of momentum.”
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Kaizer Chiefs: Tashreeq Morris – After joining Amakhosi in the most recent transfer window, Morris will be eager to make a lasting impression during the second-half of the 2024/25 campaign.
As a willing runner, the SSU defenders will have their work cut out throughout the 90 minutes given Morris's activity in and around the 18-yard-area.
SuperSport United: Christian Saile – The powerful forward will have the added motivation of performing against his former side, while he looks to kick on in the Blue of SuperSport.
Amakhosi will have to pay close attention to their ex-player, who is known for making penetrating runs toward the box.
