AS FAR Rabat will be looking to overturn a big deficit when they host Pyramids in Tuesday's CAF Champions League quarterfinal second-leg clash at the Honneur Stadium.

Kick-off is at 9pm CAT.

CURRENT FORM

Rabat succumbed to a heavy 4-1 loss to Pyramids in the first-leg match played at the 30 June Stadium in Egypt on 1 April, and the defeat ended their five-match unbeaten run across all competitions.

Abdelfattah Hadraf scored the goal that gave the Moroccan side hope of progressing to the semifinals and they will be banking on their home-ground advantage when they take on Pyramids.

Meanwhile, Pyramids extended their impressive unbeaten run to 24 matches across all competitions when they hammered Rabat in the first-leg encounter, having registered four draws and 20 wins.

The Egyptian side will be looking to avoid losing by at least three or four clear goals in order to reach the semifinals of Africa's biggest club football tournament for the first time in the team's history.

TEAM NEWS

Pyramids have filed an official complaint to CAF against Rabat after being unable to find a training ground in Morocco ahead of the quarterfinal second-leg match.

Four training grounds refused to host the team’s training, forcing them to use a pitch far from their hotel, requiring a 70-minute commute, and the pitch condition was poor, according to Ahrahm Online.

WHAT WAS SAID?

AS FAR Rabat head coach Alexandre Santos

“Our mission will be very difficult, but we will do our best to succeed,” Santos told reporters.

“We made a lot of mistakes in the first leg, and we must avoid those in the second leg, as there is no room for error.”

Pyramids head coach Krunoslav Jurcic

“We are not qualified for the semifinals yet. We made a good result in Cairo, but FAR is a strong team," Jurcic told reporters.

"And they still have a chance at home. We must be fully concentrated during the game to achieve our target.”

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Rabat and Pyramids have met three times since the latter was established in 2018, after purchasing Al Assiouty Sport's Egyptian Premier League status.

It is a stalemate as each team has recorded one win and the other game ended in a draw.
