Chiefs thump Chippa, Pirates maintain top spot

Kaizer Chiefs appear to be regaining their form in the DStv Diski Challenge, having achieved a decisive victory over the weekend in anticipation of their upcoming tour in the United Kingdom.
The 2024-25 Diski Challenge champions, triumphed over Chippa United thumping them 5-1, marking their first back-to-back wins in the reserve league and propelling them to third place in the standings. Despite a dismal start to the season, during which they endured a streak of seven matches without a win, coach Vela Khumalo’s squad seems to have turned the corner.

In the match against Chippa United, Thuilani Mabaso and Manqoba Ozoemena each netted a brace, while Kamogelo Malefo contributed with another goal, further solidifying his status as a pivotal player for Amakhosi. This match served as Chiefs’ final league appearance prior to their UK tour.
Orlando Pirates 2-0 Richards Bay FC

From the outset, "Rise and Shine" struggled to contain the relentless offense of the Tshwane giants. Siyabonga Mabena opened the scoring just five minutes into the match, followed by Kabelo Sibande, who doubled the lead just before halftime. The dominance continued in the second half as Simphiwe Mlondo and Oarabile Booysen concluded the scoring, cementing a decisive win for Sundowns.
Marumo Gallants FC 3-3 Sekhukhune United
In a thrilling mid-table encounter at Dr Molemela Stadium, Marumo Gallants FC and Sekhukhune United played to a riveting 3-3 draw. The match unfolded against the backdrop of contrasting recent performances, with the Gallants reeling from a loss to Siwelele FC and Sekhukhune coming off a win over Richards Bay FC.
