Bushveld tour hosts race to q-school #7 at Kyalami country club

The Bushveld Tour continues to build momentum in South African golf with the staging of Race to Q-School #7, currently underway at the prestigious Kyalami Country Club, running from 9 to 11 February 2026.

The tournament forms part of the RTQS Series (#7), a key platform designed to prepare competitive golfers for the next stage of their professional careers. With strong participation from both professionals and elite amateurs, Race to Q-School #7 once again highlights the depth of golfing talent emerging from South Africa.

Competitive Leaderboard After Round One

Following the first round of play, the tournament has already produced an exciting leaderboard, with Jacques Van der Merwe and Tristan Leonard sharing the top position at -7. Close behind them are several notable contenders, including: Salomao Junior (a) at -5 Jaco Anderson (a) and Grant Ferreira at -4 A tightly packed group at -3, including Liam Ross, Hannes Strooh (a), Travis Ladner, Travis Procter, and Johan Theron. With two rounds still to play, the tournament remains wide open, promising high-level competition as player’s battle for vital ranking points and opportunities.

The Bushveld Tour is a mini-pro tour for professional and competitive amateur golfers in South Africa and serves as an important feeder circuit for players working toward qualification for the Sunshine Tour and other major tours around the world.

Based primarily in Gauteng, the tour hosts two to three competitive tournaments per month throughout the year, providing consistent playing opportunities and a professionally managed environment for development.

The season culminates in the prestigious Srixon Tour Championship, where top performers compete for end-of-year honours.
