Vinales fastest in Italian MotoGP practice

Maverick Vinales was fastest in the final practice session for the Italian MotoGP on Saturday, ahead of qualifying and the sprint race later.

KTM rider Vinales clocked a top time of 1min 45.742sec, 0.016sec faster than championship leader Marc Marquez, who will attempt to continue his domination of this season at Mugello.

Six-time world champion Marc Marquez leads his brother Alex Marquez, who finished the practice session 0.210sec off the pace in fourth, by 32 points.

Francesco Bagnaia, who has won the last three races at Mugello, was way back in 10th place, 0.448sec behind Vinales.

Italian Bagnaia trails his Ducati teammate Marc Marquez by 93 points in the championship standings.
