A jubilant Adnan Beganovic wants TS Galaxy to keep the momentum going when they take on Durban City in the Nedbank Cup round of 32 at Chatsworth Stadium on Friday, 14 February.

Kick-off is at 7pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)

CURRENT FORM:

The Rockets claimed a surprise 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday to end Miguel Cardoso's perfect record at Chloorkop on the domestic scene.

Beganovic's side are now unbeaten in their last 11 league games since the Bosnian took over the reins from Sead Ramovic and they've gone 13 matches without defeat in all competitions.

Galaxy thrashed Vasco da Gama 7-0 in the previous round of the Ke Yona Ya Rona on 29 January and they'll be hoping to at least match last season's run when they reached the quarterfinals.

The Mpumalanga outfit made history in 2019 as they became the first club outside the top flight to lift the trophy after beating Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in the final.

Durban City are on course to return to the Betway Premiership after a two-year absence, having opened up a five-point lead over the chasing pack in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Simo Dladla's side suffered only their third loss of the campaign against Casric Stars (1-0) on 17 January, but they bounced back after recording successive 1-0 wins over Kruger United and Venda FC.

The team formerly known as Maritzburg United edged Highbury 1-0 in the preliminary round of the Nedbank Cup on 4 December and ran out 2-0 victors against Lerumo Lions in the round of 32.

What was said:

TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic

"We have 22 players and now we can count on all of them. It's a beautiful feeling when all your players understand what you want and what you've been preparing them for.

"I'm so happy with the way we handled ourselves (against Sundowns). I think we can celebrate tonight, and tomorrow we prepare ourselves for the Cup game.

"We don't want to stop, we want to push, so let's see how much we can push."

Players to watch:

Durban City - Joslin Kamatuka is spearheading Durban City's promotion push after scoring seven goals in his last nine appearances to sit second in the MFC scoring charts with 10 goals. The 33-year-old Namibian striker has some way to go to catch Mcebiseni Khanyi, who has plundered 16 goals for Hungry Lions, and he is likely to pose the biggest threat to Galaxy.

TS Galaxy - Mike Sebelebele is excelling in a more attacking role under Beganovic this term and his sterling performances against Cape Town City and Sundowns this month earned him two Man-of-the-Match awards. The 22-year-old winger opened his account against Bafana ba Style after nutmegging Ronwen Williams following fine link-up play with Dzenan Zajmovic on the left.
