With both teams boasting an array of exciting young talent this year, expectations are high for another captivating thriller.

South Africa will be coached by Vela Khumalo, who admits the new-look Mozambique will be a closed book to him.

Khumalo, who also serves as the South African U17 men’s national team coach, will be assisted by Reneilwe Letsholonyane, while Molefi Ntseki will provide invaluable expertise as Technical Advisor to the COSAFA side during the regional tournament.

Coach Khumalo has strategically selected players who were part of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos’s preliminary squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Tanzania and Mozambique next month.

Furthermore, he has recognised and included players who will be considered for selection in the South African team set to represent the country in the 2025 African Nations Championship (Chan) tournament.
