After a string of disappointing results in the league, AmaZulu will press on to their next match in the DStv Premiership when they take on Polokwane City at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Kick-off is at 7:30 pm CAT.

CURRENT FORM:

AmaZulu are currently sitting at 12th position on the log and have failed to win their last five games in the league. Just last weekend, the KZN outfit lost 2-0 to TS Galaxy. Before that, Usuthu drew 1-1 against both SuperSport United and Moroka Swallows.

After what were initially thought to be growing pains from being led by a new coach, AmaZulu need to tread carefully as the team is now dangerously close to the relegation zone. The team have 24 points as it stands, tied with Moroka Swallows.

Their upcoming opponents, Polokwane City, will be on a high following their 1-0 win over Chippa United over the weekend. Prior to that, the Limpopo team lost 1-0 to Golden Arrows and Orlando Pirates in the league.

Rise and Shine are two places ahead of AmaZulu on the log and have 27 points.

WHAT WAS SAID:

AmaZulu head coach Pablo Franco Martin shared his frustration and disappointment with the team's current string of results.

“We've made mistakes that we’re not used to making this season that are not acceptable. Lack of concentration and communication," said Franco Martin.

The Spanish tactician will be hoping that Usuthu can grab a win in the game against Polokwane City, as they've been winless in their last five fixtures.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Veli Mothwa, AmaZulu - The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper has found his place once again in the starting XI and will be an important part of the team to try and possibly keep a clean sheet. Defence will prove to be just as important as attack to AmaZulu over the next few weeks.

Oswin Appollis, Polokwane City - The attacker is important for Rise and Shine as he’s a player that can create and score goals. With four goals so far in the PSL, it will be vital for him to be on target in this important league match.
