Chiefs fail to take their chances against Chippa
Kaizer Chiefs lost ground to the Betway Premiership frontrunners after being held to a 0-0 draw by basement dwellers Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Glamour Boys missed out on the chance to go level with third-placed Sekhukhune United, who beat Magesi 1-0 in a concurrent match to climb above AmaZulu (4th) and Chiefs (5th).

Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze's side were looking for their third win on the spin in an attempt to keep pace with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the table, while the Chilli Boys desperately sought to arrest an eight-match winless run which left them rock bottom.
The first half was a tepid affair as neither goalkeeper was seriously tested, with the best chance falling to the visitors on 33 minutes when Flavio Da Silva blazed over on the volley from close range.

Dumisani Msibi had the first save to make on 53 minutes as Da Silva steered a header straight at him from Mfundo Vilakazi's cross, while Brandon Petersen was finally called into action on 68 minutes to keep out a fiercely-struck shot from Bienvenu Eva Nga.
Msibi then produced an expert save to deny Amakhosi the lead two minutes later when he parried Vilakazi's effort onto the post and Etiosa Ighodaro could have won it at the death, but he headed wide of the goal.
