Cape Town City coach Muhsin Ertugral is tipping the club’s left back Tshegofatso Nyama to make a transition into a international footballer sooner rather than later after his performance for the club against Lamontville Golden Arrows in midweek.

Nyama topped off a strong individual performance with a rasping goal from a freekick to ensure a 1-1 draw for the home team.

“He’s been a pleasure from the first minute I arrived at the club and he's a brilliant player,” enthused Ertugral.

“His positiveness, the way he presents himself in training sessions. There are not a lot of players of this quality in South African football.”

Ertugral feels Nyama can contribute to City’s bid to try and finish as high as they can in the Betway Premiership this season after a slow start to the campaign.

“It’s important how we free him when he comes from inside, when he comes from outside, what the front players do? One thing is very important that we need to give him the option for these possibilities. You see he did a lot of inside movements and in the first half was very dangerous when he comes from inside,” the coach explained.

“I'm very, very happy about the progress of Nyama. I think he's also growing to a level that can be in the Bafana Bafana plans because you don't have a lot of wing backs like that in the country.

“He’s good one against one. He has a great technique. He has a great vision. In the game, his technical capacity is very, very good. I think then he will go very far, because he's also very quick,” Ertugral added.
