SuperSport's front-row seats to URC, Sundowns v Chiefs, Proteas v England & WWE

Sports fans are spoilt for choice this weekend as Your World of Champions brings captivating local rugby clashes, ICC Champions Trophy big hits and much more.

As the month of March begins, the stakes are getting higher in many leagues and competitions, while the intensity in multiple sports arenas starts to amplify.

With the road to finals, wrestling matchups and other consequential showdowns taking place, Your World of Champions, SuperSport is rearing to give fans and viewers nothing but the best, starting this weekend.

MOUTHWATERING SA URC DERBIES

The weekend’s action will be sure to draw a lot of attention and rile up excitement on account of the local South African derbies in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship (VURC).

The first meaty slice of action sees the Emirates Lions open the gates to their den for a matchup with the Hollywoodbets Sharks at 2::30pm on Saturday, live on SuperSport Rugby (DStv channel 211).

The pride of Johannesburg will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to the Vodacom Bulls last time out, an opponent KZN's finest defeated the week prior.

Kicking off right after that clash, the high-flying Bulls will be hosting the DHL Stormers at Loftus Versfeld at 5pm (SuperSport Rugby).

In what could prove to be a potentially tricky fixture, with 2022 winners looking to salvage some pride from an uncharacteristically poor campaign, Jake White is sure to look for a repeat result of the victory they got in Cape Town the last time the two sides met.

FOOTBALL FEAST

Across town at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, Betway Premiership action is sure to generate much fanfare come 3:30pm. 

Log-leading Mamelodi Sundowns host Nasredine Nabi’s Kaizer Chiefs with Masandawana looking to continue their charge to an eighth straight Premiership crown, with Orlando Pirates hot on their heels.

The titanic clash will be available on DStv Compact on the SuperSport PSL channel (202) and Showmax Premier League.

For Amakhosi, an immediate bounceback will be on their minds after a humiliating 4-1 loss to Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport United last time out.

Mduduzi Shabalala and his teammates will have to be on high alert for the potent Sundowns attack which includes a record-chasing Peter Shalulile.

The game has all the ingredients to sizzle in the Tshwane heat.

In England on Saturday, the Premier League takes a back seat with the resumption of the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Across the pond in Canada, all eyes will be on Toronto as the WWE hosts the famed Elimination Chamber.

With the men’s matchup including heavyweights such as John Cena, CM Punk Jake Paul, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest – this year’s headline fight is sure to keep fans' pulses racing and glued to their screens.
