EPISODE 3 REVIEW: triumph and heartbreak

It is always so sad to see a person having to make a choice between following their dreams or choosing survival.
It was evident that Lucky Mofokeng had to make a hard personal decision to leave the SuperSport MVP Talent draft camp.
Oh man, it was so tragic to see the other contestants also heartbroken at seeing one of their own leave the competition. That is the kind of warm and loving community our MVPs have built over the last few weeks.

Even though Lucky had to leave us, we hope to see him sometime in the future rocking the sports broadcasting world.
SOCIAL SCIENCE
Anyhoo, back to the matter at hand. Our SuperSport MVP Talent Search show contenders had to quickly get themselves together because it was time for another challenge.
As the world of sports media keeps evolving, social media is playing a big part in how people - including athletes, presenters, and viewers - interact with their favourite content.
Our participants got tested on their abilities as sports content creators. Being fresh, engaging and telling a full story were some of the requirements for this challenge.
THE DEJECTION
This week the MVPs had to impress SuperSport's Senior Manager of Digital Marketing, Nazli Hamilton.
She is strict but fair. But oh boy, the twist in the elimination was one for the books! I didn’t expect to see that. The dejection in the nine contestants’ eyes after Nazli told them they were actually missing out on the week’s main challenge - after initially thinking they were the successful group - was heartbreaking.
I was also not expecting to see the MVPs go straight to their second main challenge after their mentoring session. But I guess working for Your World of Champions you have to always be ready and be on your toes.
It was interesting to see the contenders interact with fans, who really didn't make it easy for them.
Poor Christopher Tarr, struggling with securing a supporter interview but at least when he finally managed to get one, he coped and was able to get a bit of a chat. Yay for him.
After missing out on last week’s top 10, I thought Lennox Wasara would ace his stadium challenge, especially with his broadcasting experience. Shame man, he looked so unsure of himself. But hopefully he learned a thing or two about stadium crossings.
Relebogile Mabawa is showing consistency, back in the top three for the second time in a row, albeit with the silver medal this time following last week's gold.
Abongile Baleni scoring his first top three position with the bronze and Yvette Mhaluli taking the gold with an assured performance. She does look comfortable in front of the camera.
But you know what? It was so fulfilling to see Abongile slightly come out of his shell and show us his true self.
I guess he heard the judges last week when they told him to tone down on the Thomas Mlambo impression and be himself!
