With another instalment of the Motsepe Foundation Championship on the horizon, Kruger United will hope to continue setting the pace at the top of the table, while Milford and Cape Town City endure sticky spells.

While Milford held top spot for the majority of the campaign, Kruger United quietly went about their business and are the new leaders as it stands.

Sitting on 40 points after 21 games, Kruger will take on Casric Stars on Friday afternoon as they hope to build on their 1-0 win against Milford last time out. The victory thus opened a three point gap over Milford in second-spot, while Kruger notes a record of three wins and two draws in their last five.

Milford on the other hand, are winless in their last three encounters and will now put plans in place when they face Baroka on Saturday afternoon. After accumulating 37 points from 21 matches, Milford also face pressure from third-placed Cape Town City, who are scheduled to do battle against Venda Football Academy on Saturday.

Amid their rise to the top end of the log, City hit a snag in their last couple of matches, following their 2-2 stalemate with Milford, which was followed by a 3-1 loss to Highbury last week.

As it stands, City are four points adrift of table toppers Kruger United as they seek to reclaim PSL status for next season by way of automatic promotion.

Venda Football Academy will likewise hope to end their barren run of results when they take on City, given their record of three draws and two defeats in their last five Motsepe Foundation Championship fixtures.

Elsewhere, 16th placed Black Leopards will hope to build on what was only their third win of the season last time out when they shake hands with Highbury on Friday.

Black Leopards are currently in a crippling relegation scrap after recording just 16 points from 20 matches so far this season. However, their 1-0 win against Leicesterford City during last gameweek came as a timely booster, after they last tasted victory on 2 November 2025, via a 4-1 win against The Bees on away soil.
