Kruger on the cusp of automatic PSL promotion

All eyes will be on Kruger United in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this weekend, as they target automatic promotion to the PSL with a win against the relegation-threatened Black Leopards on Saturday.
As it stands, log leaders Kruger United hold an eight-point lead over Milford and Hungry Lions with three games to go; the latter two teams occupy second and third on the table with the same number of points (47) respectively.

Kruger has won each of its last five league ties, marching to an impressive 55-point tally. The table toppers now require just two points from their remaining three fixtures to secure PSL status.
While Baroka was the first team to be relegated from the Motsepe Foundation Championship last week, defeat for Leopards against Kruger could seal their position in the drop zone in 15th place.
Elsewhere, the race for the Promotion play-off position will resume once more, beginning with Milford’s tie against The Bees on Saturday. Meanwhile, Hungry Lions will take on Upington City on the same day.
Milford will head into their next game with a spring in their step following a narrow 1-0 win against Black Leopards last time out, while Hungry Lions picked up a 2-1 defeat against Gomora United in their most recent league fixture.
Also, fourth placed Cape Town City sit two points behind the Play-off zone, as they prepare to go toe-to-toe with Gomora United on Sunday. The Citizens are winless in their last three encounters, a run that includes draws against Hungry Lions and The Bees, while they also a suffered a 2-1 defeat against Kruger during this period.
Casric Stars, who are in fifth place, four points adrift of third, are scheduled to face Baroka FC on Friday. A 2-1 loss against Leicesterford City last time out dented their progress up the table as they likewise seek to challenge for promotion to the PSL.
