Starc brilliance gives Delhi Capitals Super Over victory v Rajasthan Royals
Mitchell Starc delivered two sensational overs – one in regulation play and one in a Super Over – to steer the Delhi Capitals to a pulsating victory against the Rajasthan Royals after both teams had scored 188 In their IPL match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday.
The Royals batted first and posted a respectable 188-5 before the home side were restricted to 188-4 in reply before losing the Super Over in which they could muster just 11-2 in five balls before Tristan Stubbs hooked a slower-ball bouncer from Mohit Sharma for six to win the match.

How good was that last over from the left-arm pacer? 🤯

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal laid the platform for the run-chase during an opening stand of 76 with captain Sanju Samson and the result may have been very different had Samson not been forced to retire hurt with a hamstring strain on 31 from just 19 balls with two fours and three sixes.
Nitish Rana (51 from 28 balls) looked to set to win the game in regulation time before yet another Starc yorker trapped him lbw and Hetmyer was left stranded on 15* from nine balls with just a solitary four.
STUBBS AND PATEL STEP UP
Earlier Royals opener Abishek Porel top-scored with a measured 49 from 37 balls and KL Rahul was positively cautious in his 38 from 32 balls leaving the heavy-lifting at the end of the innings to Stubbs and captain Axar Patel – and they certainly rose to the challenge.
Stubbs slog-swept legspinner spinner Wanindu Hasaranga for a six and clubbed a low full-toss from seamer Sandeep Sharma over long-on for another maximum to finish unbeaten on 34 from 18 balls while Axar (4x4, 2x6) was slightly more dynamic reaching the same score from just 14 balls to give his team the late boost they needed.
England fast bowler Jofra Archer was the pick of the attack with 2-32 from his four overs but his efforts were in vain as the Capitals moved to the top of the log with 10 points from their fifth victory in six games while the Royals are languishing in eighth place with just four points from seven matches.
