In what was a tense affair at the Dobsonville Stadium, TS Galaxy and Sekhukhune played out to a 1-1 draw in their latest Betway Premiership encounter on Sunday afternoon.

Eric Tinkler’s side looked set on bagging maximum points on the day, after Chibuike Ohizu opened the scoring after the hour-mark.

However, Kamogelo Sebelebele had other ideas as he evened out the scoring in the 70th minute.

Sekhukhune United saw most of the ball during the first 10 minutes of the match as the likes of Ellis Rammala and Keletso Makgalwa produced their side’s first attempts at goal.

With Galaxy pushed back, the Rockets battled to make their way up the park.

It was more of the same for Sekhukhune midway through the first half and they bossed the possession account for much of the half.

However, Babina Noko often battled to make their chances stick in the final third.

As far as notable scoring chances were concerned, Sekhukhune were handed more opportunities than their opponents but ultimately struggled to get the ball over the lines as the half drew to a close.

Babina Noko remained the more progressive side after the break, while TS Galaxy looked slightly more dangerous going forward compared to their showings in the first half.

However, it was Sekhukhune who broke the deadlock in the 65th minute as Ohizu added his name to the scoresheet with a right-footed shot from close range, following a swift passing move toward the Galaxy box.

Not holding back, the Rockets levelled matters with 20 minutes to go via Sebelebele, who made no mistake with a right-footed shot from the middle of the goal.

Sekhukhune piled on the pressure during the closing stages of the match, given failed attempts from the likes of Samkele Sihlali and Tresor Yamba.

However, with neither side able to take the lead late on, the game ended in a 1-1 draw after 95 minutes of action.
