KAA Gent failed to sign AS Trencin wonderkid Emmanuel Uchegbu, nicknamed the Nigerian Arjen Robben, before the close of the European winter transfer window. It is however understood that discussions are still ongoing for a possible summer transfer.

AS Trencin has put a price tag of around €2.5 million for the speedy winger, who has one of the highest dribbling success rates in the Slovakian top flight.

Ajax and PSV are also understood to be monitoring the 19-year old.

Furthermore, two Major League Soccer clubs have contacted AS Trencin to express their interest in acquiring the winger.

However, a close source indicates the player's family prefers he remain in Europe.

AS Trencin has a proven track record of successfully transferring players to the Belgian Pro League.

Illustrative examples include Leon Bailey to Genk, Moses Simon to Gent, Wesley Moraes to Club Brugge, Kalu Samuel to Gent, and Osam Bukari to Gent.

Emmanuel Uchegbu appears to be the next in line in this series of successful transfers.
