Adams fitting in fine at Sundowns

Jayden Adams’ excitement at joining Mamelodi Sundowns has helped him settle into the team quickly and establish for himself a regular place in the starting line-up, said coach Miguel Cardoso.
Adams was a January transfer window purchase from Stellenbosch for an undisclosed price, but said to be in excess of R20-million that would make him the most expensive domestic signing.
The 23-year-old Adams came off the bench in his first two Stellenbosch outings but has since been a starter for Cardoso’s team in their last five league games, scoring twice.
“One of the roles of a coach is to try the connections between the players, so that the whole team works,” Cardoso explained.
“I believe that coach needs to create an organisation where the best players can express themselves in order for the best of them to appear on the pitch.
“We have quality players, of course, and Jayden is one of them. He's happy being among us. I think that has helped him to settle and the way we are playing and the way we want the things we want from him, in terms of tasks, he's able to do them.
“He's capable to do many things. He's a very interesting player in terms of understanding the game, is very intelligent, and even not needing to run too much. He knows how to play the ball in the right spaces and to cope with the different dimensions of the game,” added the coach.
