Leruma, Spurs set for tough MFC encounters

As two sides battling to maintain consistency in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this season, Leruma United and Cape Town Spurs are gearing up for tense fixtures on Matchday 19 of South Africa’s first division this weekend.
Sitting at the bottom of the log, Leruma United will take on 11th placed Upington City at the Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Leruma suffered a 2-0 defeat against Hungry Lions last time out, which happened to be their 13th loss of the 2024/25 campaign. Victories have been hard to come by for the Daveyton side this season and they have bagged just one win in their last 11 matches.
Elsewhere, the Urban Warriors are scheduled to face the promotion chasing JDR Stars at the Soshanguve Giant Stadium on Saturday afternoon. While JDR Stars are flying high in third position, the Mother City outfit head into their next league tie in 15th spot.
With one win in their last 14 league encounters, Spurs are in danger of dropping out of the Motsepe Foundation Championship this season and have amassed just 15 points from 18 games played so far.
