As the excitement builds, teams aim to capitalise on every opportunity to secure their standings in this fiercely competitive tournament.

AmaZulu are set to take on Orlando Pirates in the second match of the day, kicking off at 2:30pm.

The Buccaneers, who went Christmas recess sitting comfortably at the top of the standings, are eager to extend their advantage.

Pirates have amassed 31 points, placing them at the helm of the league after 13 outings.

Trailing closely in second place is Mamelodi Sundowns with 29 points.

In contrast, AmaZulu find themselves in ninth position, with 15 points accrued from 12 outings.

On Sunday, the excitement will reach a crescendo with a KZN derby as Durban City FC face off against Golden Arrows at 12:30pm.

This clash holds significant stakes for both teams: a victory for the Arrows could lift them off the bottom of the table, while the Citizens, currently in 14th place with 13 points, are equally desperate for a win to distance themselves from the bottom place.

The day will culminate with a tense matchup between Richards Bay and Kaizer Chiefs at 2:30 PM.

Chiefs, striving to engrave their name in the annals of history, pursue an ambitious goal to become the first team to defend the Diski Challenge title successfully.

With both matches promising intense competition, the stakes couldn't be higher for these clubs in the league.

Chiefs secured their title last season with an impressive 70-point tally, but the 2025-26 campaign has presented its fair share of challenges.

Despite a sluggish start, Amakhosi captain Thulani Mabaso remains resolute, vowing to fight for their crown until the final whistle of the season.

Currently occupying fifth place in the standings, Amakhosi have collected 20 points from 12 matches, a considerable 11 points adrift of the league-leading Pirates.

As the pressure mounts, the question looms: Can Amakhosi rally to defend their hard-won glory?
