City face stern Casric Stars test in latest MFC matchday
With the latest list of Motsepe Foundation Championship fixtures on the way, Cape Town City and Casric Stars will headline this weekend’s action as the former Betway Premiership side go in search of their first victory in South Africa’s second-tier.
On the back of draws against Venda Football Academy and Hungry Lions respectively, City remain without a win in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this season.
The Citizens will now face one of their toughest tests during the early parts of the campaign, with Casric Stars set to make a trip to the Athlone Stadium on Saturday.
Casric Stars currently lead the way at the top of the table, after back-to-back wins against Black Leopards and Milford FC in their opening set of league assignments.
Elsewhere, Venda Football Academy will hope to keep up with the pace set by Casric Stars when they take on Milford at the Richards Bay Stadium on Saturday. Sitting in second-place, Venda will go into their next game on the back of a 2-1 win against Gomora United while Milford lingers in ninth place after their defeat to Casric Stars last time out.
