Huge games at the top and bottom in MTN Super League

Power Dynamos will be looking to extend their commanding six-point lead at the top of the MTN Super League when they host Nkwazi on Wednesday afternoon as a full round of midweek matches are played.
Dynamos’ advantage at the top of the table makes them odds-on favourites to lift the league title, especially as they have won their last nine league games in a row.
Nkwazi have been no slouches and come off back-to-back wins as they are unbeaten in five (D3).
They are still in with a chance of finishing second this season as they trail ZESCO United by five points with 12 still up for grabs.
But recent history is not in their favour as Dynamos have won six of the last seven meetings (D1), with Nkwazi’s last away success in the league in 2019.
ZESCO will be hoping for a slip-up but they have a tough away trip to fourth-placed Kabwe Warriors.
With second place earning a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, ZESCO can ill-afford any slip-ups themselves.
They have 54 points, with Nkana FC on 51 and Warriors and Nkwazi on 49.
RELEGATION BATTLE
Defending champions Red Arrows have 47 points and would need a major calamity from the teams above them, to finish in second, with it now mathematically impossible for them to retain their title.
Nkana are at Green Buffaloes as they come off back-to-back draws that stunted their title hopes, but they did win the three games prior to that.
Their last away win at Buffaloes in the league was in 2018.
Red Arrows host Atletico Lusaka, who are one of eight teams possibly still involved in the relegation mix.
Bottom side Indeni have already had their fate sealed, but it is tight from there, with Mutondo Stars on 31 points along with Forest Rangers, and Atletico the fourth team in the relegation zone on 33.
Zanaco also have 33 points but a superior goal-difference, with Lumwana Radiants (34), Nchanga Rangers (36), FC MUZA (37), Green Eagles (37) and even NAPSA Stars (38) all still nervously looking over their shoulder.
Radiants take on Mutondo Stars in a huge relegation six-pointer, while FC MUZA host NAPSA Stars and Zanaco welcome Green Eagles.
Forest Rangers play host to Nchanga Rangers in another game that could have a huge bearing on deciding who goes down the season.
Mufulira Wanderers go to Indeni in the other fixture played on Wednesday.
