A 98th minute penalty winner from Brian Masanyinga has secured the MTN Super League title for Power Dynamos as they defeated Green Eagles 1-0 on Saturday to take an unassailable lead at the top of the table.

It looked as though Dynamos may have to wait until the final day of the season to secure their eighth league championship, but Masanyinga converted his spot-kick to secure the title.

Dynamos move to 67 points from their 33 games, seven points ahead of second-placed ZESCO United, who are in action on Sunday.

ZESCO have at least been assured of CAF Confederation Cup football next season with second place after Nkana FC’s 5-2 loss at FC MUZA meant they now cannot be caught.

Andrew Phiri and Rickson Ng'ambi scored a brace for MUZA, to go with a goal for Given Kalusa, Lazarous Kambole and Idriss Mbombo had put Nkana 2-1 up.

Lumwana Radiants’ stay in the top flight was ended after a 2-0 loss to NAPSA Stars. Mathew Tolopa and Evans Kayombo Jr netted the goals for the visitors.

Forest Rangers are now in serious peril three points from safety with one game to go after they lost 1-0 to Red Arrows. Noris Mubanga Kalamba scored the only goal of the game.

Atletico Lusaka took a giant step to safety with a 2-0 win at already relegated Indeni as Benjamin Chisala and Thomas Chisi scored goals for the visitors. Theya re two points above the drop zone with a game to play.

Zanaco were also big winners on Saturday and have the same scenario after they were 2-0 home winners against Mufulira Wanderers. Chawanangwa Kaonga scored a brace of goals in the first half.

Green Buffaloes and Nchanga Rangers played to a 0-0 draw in the other game on Saturday.
