After a 10-match winless streak in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Leruma United returned to winning ways in their most recent league encounter and will now turn their attention to Hungry Lions this weekend.
In what was a much-needed booster amid a torrid 2024/25 campaign, Leruma recorded a rare 1-0 win against Black Leopards at the TUT Stadium last Saturday.
While Leruma remained at the bottom of the log, the Daveyton outfit moved within two points of Cape Town Spurs in 15th spot after the Urban Warriors recorded back-to-back draws against Upington City and Milford FC in their last two encounters.
As for Spurs, the Mother City club will make their way to the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday where they will face Black Leopards who are likewise hoping to get back to winning ways in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
At the top end of the pile, log leaders Durban City are scheduled to face Venda Football Academy at the Chatsworth Stadium on Friday evening.
Durban City solidified their spot at the top of the log last week following a tense 1-0 win against Kruger United on home soil, while Venda were the biggest winners in matchday 17 after their 5-1 victory against Baroka at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
