CURRENT FORM

Chiefs recently undertook CAF Confederation Cup duties this past weekend, where they gathered a 1-1 draw with Zamalek in Group D at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Domestically, Chiefs have noted two wins on the spin in the Betway Premiership last time out, namely against Durban City and Orbit College.

While Chiefs bagged two wins and three draws in their last five league matches, the Soweto giants currently occupy fourth position on the log with 22 points in 11 matches played so far.

Chippa United on the other hand, battled to yield positive results throughout the 2025/26 season. The Chilli Boys will go into their next game in 16th place with eight points after 14 matches and last jotted down a 0-0 draw with Siwelele at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium on 29 November.

WHAT WAS SAID

Speaking after Chiefs’ 1-1 draw with Zamalek in CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday, Amakhosi co-coach co-coach Cedric Kaze revealed Gaston Sirino could be a doubt for their trip to the Eastern Cape this week.

Furthermore, Kaze expressed that Chiefs showed great resilience en-route to claiming a point against the Egyptian giants.

“It was a knock and we’re going to assess him to examine the extent of his injury, but I don’t think it’s something very big,” Kaze explained.

“Okay, the game didn’t go in our favour [against Zamalek] from the first minute, we conceded after three minutes, we have to make our two substitutions after 15 minutes we had already two substitutions, but we kept believing that we could come back.

“We kept our belief alive; we did everything to try to get back into the game. Unfortunately, we scored at the very end but I’m so proud of the boys, we did everything we could and with this kind of mentality and display – I’m pretty sure we’ll qualify,”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Kaizer Chiefs: Mduduzi Shabalala – With Sirino being a doubt for their next match, Shabalala will be expected to produce the goods in the creative department on Wednesday. As one of Chiefs' best players in the last couple of months, Shabalala has three goals to his name so far this season and will be keen to increase his tally against Chippa.

Chippa United: Sirgio Kammies – The 27-year-old bagged the Man of the Match award during Chippa’s 0-0 draw with Siwelele and will go into the next game with confidence in his stride. Given Chiefs' speed in attack, Kammies will also be required to marshal his defence in transitional moments.
