Wins for Sundowns and Pirates, Polokwane drop points
It remains as you were at the top of the Betway Premiership table after Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates won in midweek, but Polokwane City missed out on the chance to keep the pressure on the frontrunners.
Mamelodi Sundowns continue to lead the way after they cruised to a 3-0 victory over 10-man SuperSport United in the Tshwane derby at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
Jayden Adams opened his account for his new club on 11 minutes and a brace from Tashreeq Matthews sealed the win to keep Bafana ba Style six points clear of their title rivals.

Orlando Pirates made it back-to-back wins as they beat Sekhukhune United 2-1 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.
Deon Hotto gave the Buccaneers a dream start when he opened the scoring from a free-kick in the fifth minute and Makhehlene Makhaula doubled their advantage two minutes into the second half.
Linda Mntambo pulled one back with 13 minutes left on the clock, but Jose Riveiro's side held on to keep pace with the Brazilians.

Polokwane City and TS Galaxy extended their respective unbeaten runs in the league after they played out to a goalless draw at the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday.
Rise And Shine have now gone eight games without defeat and they remain five points clear of Babina Noko (4th) in third position, while the Rockets (10th) maintained their undefeated record under Adnan Beganovic which now stands at nine matches.

Cape Town City are showing signs of improvement under Muhsin Ertugral after they battled back from behind to draw 1-1 with Golden Arrows at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday.
The Citizens found themselves trailing to Bongani Cele's opener after just 15 minutes, but they hit back through Tshegofatso Nyama (48') early in the second half to earn a share of the spoils which kept them one point above Stellenbosch (7th) and Arrows (8th) in sixth spot.
Earlier in the day, Chippa United capitalised on Magesi's misfortune as they came from an early goal down to emerge 4-1 victors at the Seshego Stadium.
The clash was initially scheduled for Tuesday, but had to be suspended in the first half due to a floodlight failure at the ground.
Dikwena tsa Meetse got off to a flying start when Mcedi Vandala struck after just two minutes, but Sinoxolo Kwayiba (5') quickly restored parity before the lights went out.
When play resumed the following day, Craig Martin (25') immediately found the back of the net and Seun Ndlovu extended the Chilli Boys' lead on 37 minutes before Kwayiba wrapped up the comeback win on 66 minutes.
On Tuesday, Kaizer Chiefs squandered an early lead as they had to settle for a 2-2 draw with AmaZulu at the FNB Stadium.

After a goalless first half, Bahlabane Ba Ntwa hit the front through Sekeka Sithole on 51 minutes, but two quick-fire late goals from Justice Figuareido (86') and Ntlonelo Bomelo (88') clinched a dramatic turnaround for the Natal Rich Boyz, who pulled five points clear of the drop zone in 14th place, two behind Gallants (13th).
