AmaZulu FC will seek vengeance when they play host to Marumo Gallants in Friday's Betway Premiership encounter at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Kick-off is at 7:30 pm CAT.

CURRENT FORM

Usuthu extended their unbeaten run to three matches across all competitions when they drew 2-2 with Kaizer Chiefs away on Tuesday and they will now face a Gallants side that beat them 1-0 in the first-round league clash in September.

AmaZulu find themselves placed ninth in the Betway Premiership standings - just two points behind fifth-placed Chiefs and a victory over Gallants would elevate Usuthu into the top eight if other results go their way this weekend.

Meanwhile, Gallants saw their four-match unbeaten run across all competitions come to an end when they suffered a 2-1 loss to a courageous 10-man Richards Bay side away on Tuesday.

Siwelele Sa Marumo are occupying the 13th spot in the Betway Premiership standings - seven points above the relegation zone and a victory over AmaZulu would see Gallants move further away from the bottom two spots.

TEAM NEWS

AmaZulu have no suspension concerns coming into this encounter, but Marumo Gallants will be without two players who are suspended.

Siyabulela Shai will be absent as he completes his two-match suspension, while Edson Khumalo will also be missing after collecting his fourth yellow card of the season against Richards Bay.

WHAT WAS SAID?

AmaZulu FC co-head coach Arthur Zwane

"We're a work in progress, we're getting there steady but surely, I'm proud of the guys, I commend the effort today, they gave their all," Zwane said.

"A point playing away from home playing against a wounded Kaizer Chiefs is better than nothing."

Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela

“We need to motivate twice as much as we are supposed to. We have to find solutions and we have to find ways of coming back,” Malesela said.

“We need to get points. We can't come here and lose six points. Now we are in a position where one is not good enough. The motivation factor is we need to get the three points and redeem our image.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Rowan Human, AmaZulu FC: The diminutive attacking midfielder will be looking to maintain his incredible form having collected two Man of the Match awards in back-to-back games against SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs.

Edgar Manaka, Marumo Gallants: The inspirational captain is Siwelele Sa Marumo's top scorer with four goals and the team will once again look to him for inspiration when they look to complete a league double over AmaZulu.
