Kaizer Chiefs have proven to be among the dangerous opponents and Mamelodi Sundowns coach David Notoane has admitted that they will have to work extra hard to get maximum points when these two sides meet in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC).
The two sides face off in the DDC clash of the weekend scheduled to take place at FNB Stadium on Saturday at 12pm.
Chiefs and Sundowns employ aggressive and attacking brands of football, with the last match between the sides in November resulting in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
With both teams having scored more than 30 goals in the Diski Challenge, another goal-fest could be on the cards.
"If you look at the goals ratio, they score goals as we do but the difference is that they have conceded less. They do not give away much, but we are looking forward to another interesting encounter," said Notoane.
"It will be an evenly balanced match with goals. Our games are always full of goals when we play against Kaizer Chiefs. The biggest thing that we need to do is to kill off the game with the chances we get and if we can do that, we will earn the three points on the day."
Notoane added: "We are creating a lot of chances when we are playing against Chiefs.
"Even in the first round we had no business to draw against them, however, the thing about Chiefs is that they are very resilient when they are playing against us even in moments where they are suffering. They are able to bounce back even if the game seems to be far away from them."
Both teams stand a chance of ending the weekend sitting at the top of the DDC log.
Chiefs are second with 36 points, one adrift of leaders SuperSport United who are not playing this weekend.
Meanwhile, Sundowns are third with 35 points and a win for them will put them at the top with 38 points, while a Chiefs win will see them claim top spot on 40 points.
