Durban City and Kruger United struggle in MFC Gameweek 25

In what has been a challenging weekend at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table, both Durban City and Kruger United failed to gain any traction following their respective matchday 25 fixtures.
Log leaders Durban City suffered 1-0 loss against Highbury at the Gelvandale Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they took their winless streak to two matches in the league.
As it stands, Durban City retained their six-point lead over second-placed Kruger United, who likewise tasted defeat this weekend.
Kruger United, who had the opportunity to close the gap at the top of the pile, recorded a 3-0 loss against Black Leopards at the KaNyamazane Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Prior to their defeat against the Limpopo-outfit, Kruger United went on a seven-match unbeaten streak in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Elsewhere, bottom-of-the-log Leruma United jotted down a crucial 2-1 win against Pretoria Callies at the Dobsonville Stadium this weekend.
Their victory was supplemented by 14th-placed Cape Town Spurs recording a 0-0 draw with Orbit College, while 15th-placed Venda Football Academy could only manage a 0-0 stalemate with Hungry Lions at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.
