DStv Premiership – transfer window update

Player transfers between DStv Premiership clubs have slowed down, despite various rumours linking players with a switch.
In the latest in our weekly update from the transfer window, we look at the major moves for each topflight club so far.
AMAZULU
Confirmed signings: Victorien Adebayor (RS Berkane, Morocco), Jean-Noel Amonome (Uthongathi, back from loan), Rowan Human (Maritzburg United), Wayde Jooste (Maritzburg United), Victor Letsoalo (Sekhukhune United), Mondli Mbanjwa (Uthongathi), Mfanafuthi Mkhize (Uthongathi), Tshepang Moremi (JDR Stars, back from loan), Celimpilo Ngema (Marumo Gallants)
Summary: Usuthu have been busy in the market but have yet to see Niger forward Victorien Adebayor, who is reportedly stuck in that country due to the military coup. They could still add to their squad with several trialists.
CAPE TOWN CITY
Confirmed signings: Thabiso Kutumela (Mamelodi Sundowns, loan), Tshegofatso Nyama (TS Galaxy), Jo Paciencia (InterClube, Angola), Luyolo Slatsha (promoted), Ramazani Tshimanga (JS Groupe Bazano, DR Congo)
Summary: Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler has confirmed the club have signed Mamelodi Sundowns forward Thabiso Kutumela on loan for the season. The two previously worked together at Maritzburg United. Tinkler has been worried about his team’s firepower despite a string start from Angola striker Jo Paciencia.
CAPE TOWN SPURS

Summary: Spurs have completed the loan signing of Nicholus Lukhubeni from Mamelodi Sundowns, the fifth season in a row the fullback heads out of Chloorkop on a temporary basis. But it is perhaps up front where they need more reinforcements having not managed a goal in their two DStv Premiership games so far.

Summary: Chippa continue to add to their numbers having signed defender Sinoxolo Kwayiba, who arrives from Pretoria Callies. He had been linked with a move to Polokwane City earlier in the window but that appears to have fallen through.

Summary: Nothing new for Kaizer Chiefs this past week as they picked up their first win of the season in the MTN8 quarterfinal against Cape Town City. They have been linked with a loan move for Colombian forward Efmamjjasond Gonzalez, though there has been nothing official from the club yet. With Edson Castillo already a hit, can they add another top South American talent?

Summary: Golden Arrows added Maritzburg United right winger Brandon Theron to their squad in the last week and he made his debut in the 4-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday. Will the 30-year-old be the last of their signings is the big question.
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

Summary: Polokwane City have made a decent start to their return to the DStv Premiership with a win and a loss in their two games so far. And they were seconds away from a point in Cape Town. They look happy with the bulk of the players who won them promotion.
RICHARDS BAY
Confirmed signings: Abdi Banda (Chippa United), Austin Dube (Kaizer Chiefs), Justice Figuareido (All Stars), Letsie Koapeng (Marumo Gallants), Boikanyo Komane (All Stars), Jackson Mabokgwane (Black Leopards), Nkululeko Miya (Umsinga United), Sinethemba Mngomezulu (Stellenbosch), Thato Mohlamme (Uthongathi), Lucky Mohomi (Marumo Gallants), Thobani Mthembu (Umsinga United), Nkanyiso Ndlovu (Umsinga United)
Summary: Richards Bay have endured a difficult start with successive defeats, carrying on their poor form from the second half of last season. We will see if that leads to more signings.

Summary: Sekhukhune have been the busiest of the topflight sides as they look to build on their seventh-place finish last season. They have had a virtual overhaul of the squad with one of their most interesting signings that of Kgomotso Mosadi from Casric Stars. He was prolific in front of goal but has yet to find the back of the net after two substitute appearances this campaign.
STELLENBOSCH FC
Confirmed signings: Prince Amponsah (free agent), Salifu Colley (Real de Banjul, The Gambia), Liam de Kock (La Masia, back from loan), Oscarine Masuluke (Baroka FC), Thulani Mini (Chippa United), Thabo Moloisane (Maritzburg United), Basil Mphahlele (Baroka FC), Anicet Oura (ASEC Abidjan, Ivory Coast), Genino Palace (Maritzburg United), Kgaogelo Sekgota (Kaizer Chiefs), Olivier Traore (Marumo Gallants)
Summary: It has been a busy window for Stellenbosch FC, both incomings and outgoings, though it has gone quiet in the last week. There could yet be more incomings though.

Summary: No confirmed new signings for SuperSport United, but they have been linked with a move for Mamelodi Sundowns left-back Lyle Lakay. There are strong indications that this will happen, but it has not been announced by either club yet.
TS GALAXY
Confirmed signings: Latif Bamba (Sagrada Esperanca, Angola), Thamsanqa Gabuza (SuperSport United), Samkelo Kabini (Orlando Pirates), Thato Khiba (Marumo Gallants), Solomon Letsoenyo (Stellenbosch FC), Lehlogonolo Mojela (Casric Stars), Mpho Mvelase (Marumo Gallants), Fiacre Ntwari (AS Kigali, Rwanda), Thabang Rakwena (Casric Stars), Thabang Semache (Casric Stars), Higor Vidal (Persebaya Surabaya, Indonesia)
Summary: TS Galaxy might have done all their business already, though just one goal in two games suggests they have yet to solve their scoring woes from last season. No goals conceded though is hallmark Galaxy. They did say goodbye to striker Junior Traore, who has moved to Turkey.
