Milford surrender MFC top spot, Casric capitalise

Following the latest round of Motsepe Foundation Championship action, Casric Stars moved to the top of the table as Milford’s miserable run of results continued.

Casric Stars entered matchday 11 in second place with a run of one loss and two consecutive draws. However, the Mpumalanga side returned to winning ways via a 1-0 victory against Upington City on Friday.

As it stands, Casric have accumulated 22 points from 11 matches, while Milford are in second with 21 points to their name.

The latter-mentioned outfit are winless in their last three Motsepe Foundation Championship fixtures and saw out a 0-0 draw with Gomora United on Saturday. More interestingly, Kruger United now trail Milford by two points in third following their 2-1 victory against Leicesterford City on Saturday.

Kruger United are among the most in-form teams in the league at the moment and have won each of their last three Motsepe Foundation Championship assignments.

At the bottom of the pile, Baroka’s woes continued after they suffered a 2-1 loss against Lerumo Lions on Sunday. Baroka left matchday 11 sitting at the bottom of the pile, while 16th placed Midlands Wanderers extended their winless streak to three matches with a 1-1 draw alongside University of Pretoria on Saturday.
