Zwane hopes Usuthu can handle defence ahead of Magesi clash

AmaZulu co-coach Arthur Zwane is hoping his side will defend better going forward as they go up against Magesi in the Betway Premiership on Saturday night.
Kick-off is at 20:00 CAT (SA, GMT+2)
CURRENT FORM
AmaZulu are placed eighth in the league standings, and their previous match in the Betway Premiership ended in a 4-2 loss against Sekhukhune United.
They were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Marumo Gallants in the Round of 16, however, they had beaten the Free State team 2-0 in the league prior to facing them in the cup competition.
Usuthu have been diligent in recovering from their disappointing start to the season, however have had a problem of conceding goals unnecessarily much to the displeasure of co-coach Arthur Zwane.
As for their opponents Magesi, the Limpopo outfit are coming off the back of back to back wins over Polokwane City and Cape Town City respectively. As they’re on a quest to avoid relegation, they’ll be targeting a win against AmaZulu tomorrow evening.
WHAT WAS SAID
As aforementioned, coach Arthur Zwane is not happy with his team’s defending, and did not hold back following their loss to Sekhukhune United.
“I’m one person that usually protects players, but we can’t carry on like this, we can’t concede goals like this and expect to be a better team,” Zwane says.
“We take responsibility as coaches but also the players need to come to the party (take a responsibility).”
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Etiosa Ighodaro, AmaZulu — The Nigerian striker scored in the match against Babina Noko and with four goals to his name in the league, he will be eager to increase his tally against Dikwena tsa Meetse.
Elvis Chipezeze, Magesi — The Zimbabwean goalkeeper has kept two clean sheets in a row in the team’s last two league matches and has been in top-form between the sticks. Another impressive performance in goal will be vital in keeping Usuthu from scoring.
