Chippa United will be determined to make it two successive wins in the Betway Premiership when they host Sekhukhune United at the Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 3:30 pm CAT.

CURRENT FORM

The Chilli Boys snapped a two-match winless run across all competitions when they claimed a 2-0 victory over Cape Town City in a league clash on Tuesday and prior to the game, they had lost two matches in a row.

Chippa are placed ninth in the Betway Premiership standings - two points behind seventh-placed Stellenbosch FC. The Eastern Cape side can only climb into the top eight if they defeat Sekhukhune, and the other results go their way.

Meanwhile, Sekhukhune ended a three-match winless run across all competitions when they claimed a 4-2 victory over AmaZulu FC in a league clash on Wednesday and before the game, they had registered two draws, and a defeat.

Babina Noko are placed fourth in the Betway Premiership standings - a point behind third-placed Polokwane City. Sekhukhune will move into the top three if they secure a win over Chippa, and Polokwane drop points against Marumo Gallants on Sunday.

TEAM NEWS

The two teams have no suspension worries coming into this league encounter, but Njabulo Ngcobo is likely to be missing as the Sekhukhune United defender has been nursing an injury.

WHAT WAS SAID?

Chippa United head coach Thabo September

“The problem is that we're not consistent. That's something that we need to do better. We haven't won two games in a row this season, so that is the problem," September said.

"So we need to fix that part mentally. But yes, it's a good positive win that leaves us, especially after the Nedbank (Cup) defeat that we got (against Kaizer Chiefs), and we've been playing six away games in a row. It's good for us when we go back home now. Morale will be high."

Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema

“Credit must go to the players because we knew how they would come and we tried to stop them but the goal that we conceded was soft,” Seema said.

“I think overall the guys did well, you can see the energy and the substitute also brought energy. Credit must go to the club. The players are working hard and we must continue winning our games.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Chippa United: The Chilli Boys will look to the 25-year-old attacker who has impressively found the back of the net four times in his last three league matches.

Linda Mntambo, Sekhukhune United: The player to watch out for in the Babina Noko side is their inspirational captain who has netted three goals in his last three league games.
