City suffer new low in Motsepe Foundation Championship

Cape Town City ended the latest Motsepe Foundation Championship gameweek without victory as the Mother City club remain without a win in South Africa’s first division.
The Citizens suffered a 1-0 loss against Milford at the Richards Bay Stadium on Saturday afternoon and currently occupy 14th position on the table.
City, who plied their trade in the Betway Premiership last season, are yet to bag maximum points in a game this season, as their form sheet consists of three draws and two defeats so far.
At the top of the pile, leaders Casric Stars claimed a 2-1 win over Lerumo Lions at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Friday. Casric have now bagged four wins from five matches, while they also jotted down a 1-1 stalemate with Baroka on 21 September.
Casric’s nearest competitors, Milford, are one point (12) behind the summit following their win over City.
Elsewhere, Upington City moved into third on the standings after their 2-1 win against Midlands Wanderers at the Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium on Sunday.
Upington City’s move up the log was supplemented by two consecutive victories, while Highbury moved down into fourth place following their 1-1 draw alongside the Bees at the Gelvandale Stadium on Friday.
Other than Casric, Highbury and the University of Pretoria are the only other unbeaten sides in the Motsepe Foundation Championship so far.
